FAQ
Questions about buying art on Teodor
Everything you need to know about commissions, payments, and the guardian model. If your question isn't here, reach out through the commission form.
How do commissions work, and how long do they take?
Start by filling out the commission form with what you have in mind. The guardian will read your request and reply with a quote, timeline, and any questions. Timelines vary by artist and project complexity — a simple digital sketch might take a week, while a detailed original can take several weeks. The guardian will confirm the expected date before you commit.
How is payment handled?
The guardian sets the price and will send a payment link or invoice once the commission is agreed. Payment is handled through standard checkout. Your payment is recorded against the order, and the guardian can track paid and unpaid commissions from their dashboard.
Can I get updates on my order?
Yes. The guardian will keep you updated by email at key stages — accepted, in progress, draft ready, shipped, and completed. If you want an update in between, reply to any guardian email or use the contact details they share.
What if I'm not happy with the piece?
Talk to the guardian as soon as you have concerns. Revisions are usually handled at the draft stage before the final piece is completed. If something arrives damaged or significantly different from what was agreed, the guardian will work with you on a fair resolution.
How do I contact the guardian?
When you submit a commission or purchase inquiry, the guardian receives it by email and replies directly. All ongoing communication happens between you and the guardian — there is no separate messaging system in the app.
Is Teodor a nonprofit? Are guardians paid?
Teodor is a marketplace, not a nonprofit. Guardians are not paid by the platform; they manage the artist's business on their behalf. The artist receives the income from sales and commissions, just like any independent seller.
Can creators customize commissions?
Absolutely. Many artists are happy to work to a theme, size, or palette. The guardian helps translate your request into a clear brief the artist can follow, and will confirm what is and isn't possible before any money changes hands.
Ready to commission a piece?
The guardian will reply within a few days.
